how to make a professional,
animated, logo sting,
or a video bumper, or a
video intro for YouTube.
Whatever you call this
thing on-screen right now,
I'm gonna show you how
to do it fast and easily.
where we help you amplify
your business and brand with video.
If you're new here,
make sure you click that
subscribe button and all the links
to everything we mention in this video
you can find linked in
the description box below.
Let's jump into it.
Animated video intros are an awesome way
to brand your videos and to create
an image of professionalism
and consistency
across all of your online content.
Not only that, but it also
builds brand recognition
and familiarity for your viewers.
How do you make one?
I'm gonna sure you the process
that we recommend doing
it right now, end to end,
and once we're done, I'm
also gonna share with you
the #1 tip that you need to know
when using any video animation
to make sure that you're not gonna
kill your video engagement
or you watch time.
All right, so how do you do it?
There's some awesome
tools out there right now
that make creating a professional,
custom intro super easy.
Up until recently, we usually recommended
grabbing a template from
places like VideoHive
and customizing that up,
so that you're not starting
from absolute scratch.
That's still a solid option,
but it does require
some advanced software,
like Adobe After Effects,
to be able to customize
those templates up,
but now there is a simple tool
that you can use to do it all,
without any of that confusing
professional software,
and it's called Placeit,
and it's actually made by the same company
that runs VideoHive, called Envato.
While it doesn't have anywhere near
the full template catalogue
that's available on VideoHive,
it does have a lot in
there to choose from,
and you can customize the templates up
right on the website,
being able to add in text,
change the fonts, change the colours,
add in images, really customize them up
for your brand and for the look
and feel that you're after.
The cool part is it's also
not just video intros.
It's for social media content,
for YouTube end cards,
for photo slideshows,
and a lot more as well.
Just before I jump across
and introduce you to Placeit,
I do wanna address something
really quickly, because I can already
feel the comments coming.
The other option that you do have here
to be able to create a video intro,
or some motion graphics,
is that you can spend hours learning
how to use motion graphics software
or compositing software,
like Adobe After Effects
or Apple Motion, and build
your own from scratch.
Realistically, unless you
have the hours required
and the patience required
to learn all of those programs,
then the whole process
can really turn itself
into a real-time vampire,
and that's why I always recommend using
something like Placeit or like VideoHive,
which gets you pretty much the same result
in far less time and far
fewer headaches as well.
Unless you're interested in sitting down
and learning how to use software
like Adobe After Effects or Apple Motion,
I would strongly recommend
going this other route,
and believe me, this is super simple
and it's gonna be a game-changer
for the stuff that you're now going
to be able to create.
Okay, so this is Placeit.
You can see on this menu
across the top here,
there's lots of stuff
you can use this for,
but what we're covering here is videos,
and then again, you can see so many things
in relation to videos
that you can customize up in here.
The one that we want is Intros.
You can see here straightaway Intro Maker
for your YouTube channel,
and as you go down here,
you can see there are
so many different intros
and things that you can use.
Just putting a mouse over some of these
so you can see them,
and these are so simple
for you to customize up,
and they're crazy cheap as well.
The longest part of this entire process
is going to be picking and finding
which one of these is the
one that you wanna use.
For this example here,
I'm just gonna go something simple.
Let's go this one here,
with the smoke or the dust effect.
Pricing-wise, you can see here
that this template, we
can buy it for $9.95,
or it's actually free
if we're using one of their subscriptions.
I might as well dive into the pricing now
before I show you how easy
it is to customize this up.
You can either, as I just showed you,
you can buy the template outright
if you only want one or two,
or you can join their
monthly subscription,
$14.95 per month, $99.95 per year.
It's not just the video
intros that you unlock.
You also get access to their designs,
to mock-ups, to logos.
There is a heap of stuff in here.
Says here, "hundreds of
stunning video templates,"
obviously access to their builder as well
to customize up your templates.
You can access over
2,000 free music tracks,
and you've got the ability
to make slideshows and those
kinds of things as well,
so not just for YouTube,
but for the rest of your
social media strategy,
this can be a pretty powerful tool.
I also wanna say at this point
that this video is definitely
not sponsored by them.
They have no idea that
we're even doing this.
This is just the best way that I've found
right now to create these
animated video intros.
Let's go back and let's
customize up this template.
For this one, if we play through it again,
you can see the smoke or the dust
or whatever comes down.
The logo appears and it
fades out, super simple.
Here's all the stuff here that we need
or that we can access
to customize this up.
We can upload an image,
so let's pick on here.
We'll pick our Primal Video logo,
open that up,
we can crop it or resize it if we need to.
Let's crop that down.
Let's see over here it's cropping.
Previewing your change
on the optimal keyframe.
This is a lower quality preview.
Let's just hit "preview video."
Okay, so that only took a few seconds,
and we can see here that
our Primal Video logo
is appearing from the smoke.
We also get to customize up over this side
the background colour and the smoke colour.
Let's actually choose blue smoke.
Let's see what that looks like,
to match more of our Primal Video look.
You can see that this is happening
in almost real-time.
Let's see if we wanted
actually a bright yellow or orange.
You can see how powerful this can be.
You don't need to download and install
Adobe After Effects to
customize all this up.
Pink, why not.
Let's give it a go and
see what that looks like.
Let's make the background then,
I don't know, let's go something,
let's get the blue for the background.
You can see the power in this, right?
We now got a blue background
with pink coming.
Let's go a preview here.
Even the time for it to
generate these previews
is just crazy fast given
what it's actually doing.
Okay, so here it is.
It's now blue background
with pink smoke coming through.
You can see how easy that was to create.
You also get access up here
to add in some music or some audio tracks.
You can hit edit here and go through and
select the type of music
the track that you want
to download or purchase
with your animation.
For us in this example,
I'm gonna click out of
that and disable it,
and we can also adjust the playback speed,
so if we want that
effect or that animation
to happen slower, we can select 0.5 speed,
or we can speed it up to 1.5 speed
all in here as well.
Once you're done, you're
gonna hit download,
it's gonna go through and it's gonna
render out your video for you,
but do note that you are
gonna have a watermark
in the bottom corner unless
you pay the $9.95, or unless you have
a subscription with them, but still,
this is crazy cheap considering
what this is letting you do
and how fast you're able to get it.
Okay, so the rendering is done.
We're now able to hit the download
and to download, but you can see
down the bottom here that we have
the watermark made with Placeit.
I'm gonna go back now,
I'm gonna pick a totally
different template,
something with more text on it,
so you can see the
level of control you get
with some of the more
advanced templates as well.
Let's pick this one here.
It says Cyber Monday, but
we can customize this up.
Okay, straight into the editor.
You can see that we
actually, get control here
to upload a logo and three
photos with this one.
Once again, you can see that they're
selling this one for $9.95, crazy cheap,
where you get control over the text.
Let's change this to Primal Video.
We can select a font here
or change the font if we want.
We can change the colour of the text.
Let's just pick a blue.
We'll click off that.
We also can upload our logo,
so we'll go through and
find our logo again,
upload that one, we can crop it down.
Obviously here, for the best quality
you wanna upload the correct size logo
and not really rely on
this crop feature too much.
Our logo is uploading there now.
These three photos, photo
1, photo 2, and photo 3
were the three photos that are
kind of animating through
in the background.
We can customize those up
and obviously, upload our own three images.
Again, we've got control
over the playback speed,
how fast or how slow we
want this to playback.
We've got our audio track over here,
and we can customize up the
background-colour as well.
Maybe we change the background
from purple to be a darker blue,
and for the lines we
can leave them as black.
Let's just get a preview
now, and here we go.
Let's hit "play."
Primal Video, Primal Video.
Nice.
You see how quick and how simple this was,
and obviously, those other
images in the background,
we can swap these out with
our own branded images as well.
How awesome is that, and how fast is this
to create these things?
You don't need to worry about
After Effects or buying a template
and then have to pay someone on Fiverr
to customize it up for you.
You can do it all, literally,
straight on their website.
For $9.95, that is insanely cheap.
In regards to licensing with this stuff,
this is always something you should
look into, but they make it super simple.
They've created a human-readable summary
of their license terms
in relation to Placeit,
and they clearly outline here
all the things you can do
and all the things you can't do
to keep it super simple.
The one here, "you can publish, broadcast,
"display, and distribute the content
"you create with Placeit."
That's the main one we're looking at,
so you are free to use this on YouTube
and inside of your videos.
It's always worth looking at this stuff
and knowing what you can and can't do
with anything like this.
You can see how fast and easy it is
to quickly pick a template,
to quickly customize it up,
to add in your logos, your fonts,
your colours, to make it yours
for your brand and for your videos.
This is by far the fastest way
that I have found to create
a professional-looking, a great-looking
video animation or a logo
animation for your videos.
This is gonna be perfect for anyone
who is interested in
creating this stuff fast,
without any of the additional
work or headaches that come
with either creating one from scratch
or even going through
and finding a template
on VideoHive, downloading that,
and customizing it up manually,
and then saving and
rendering it out from there,
or even paying someone on places like
Upwork or Fiverr to do that for you.
Placeit is hands down
the simplest solution,
but if you're someone who is after
more control or more customizability
in those templates, then that's where
starting at VideoHive
and going down that route
is going to be a better option for you.
Or, if you're someone
who doesn't even wanna
look at the prebuilt template
as a starting point,
to customize up and build from,
and wants to start from absolute zero,
then your best bet is going to be
to try and find a motion graphics person
to build that for you,
again to save you spending
the massive amount of time to be able
to get up to speed, creating something
that looks great yourself.
I'm a big believer and a big advocate
for using templates, because there are
some amazing ones out there.
People have already done the work,
and you can customize these up
really really fast, really really simple,
as we've shown you in this video,
to get the outcome that you want
in the fastest amount of time.
At the start of this video,
I mentioned I'd also be sharing
with you my #1 tip when you're using
animations and graphics like this,
so that you don't kill your watch time
or your engagement with your viewers,
and that tip is to not put
your shiny new video intro
at the very beginning of your video.
What that's gonna do
is to drive people away
from your video before they even know
if they're in the right place or not.
This is something that
we see all the time:
people starting with an
awesome intro animation,
explaining the channel
and the types of content they have,
but you've gotta look at this
from the perspective of the viewer.
They've found your video on YouTube,
they want to know if your video
is the one that is gonna
answer their pain or problem,
or to cover the content that you've said
you're going to in your
title and description.
You wanna hook them in
and let them know first
that's exactly what you're
going to do in your video.
Then, place your awesome intro animation
immediately after that.
At the start of this video,
I opened with, in this video
I'm gonna show you how to make
a professional, animated logo sting,
or a video bumper, or a
video intro for YouTube.
Whatever you call this
thing on-screen right now,
I'm gonna show you do it fast and easily,
so that way you watch this video
are able to know exactly what
I was going to be
covering inside the video.
Then, knowing that you're
in the right place,
if you're interested in watching that,
you'll stick around.
Instead of potentially wasting your time
and showing an awesome
intro animation up-front,
when you still might be questioning
if this is the right video that
you should be putting
your attention towards,
and waiting for all of that to finish,
I'm able to hit on those
points straightaway,
and say this is exactly what we're
going to show you in this video.
Then, immediately after that,
is the perfect place to put your
new video intro, because you've already
told the viewers that they
are in the right place,
if that's what they're interested
in learning or watching.
Now that you've got your
awesome video intro sorted,
and you know exactly where to put it
inside your video for maximum impact,
if you wanna take this one step further
and level up the titles
that you're adding into your videos
to make those look a lot better as well,
then check out the video linked on-screen,
and I'll see you in the next video.
